Machaerus

Machaerus is a Hasmonean hilltop palace and desert fortress, now in ruins, located in modern-day Jordan! It is supposed to be the palace of Herod, King of Judea, during Jesus’s lifetime. It was here that John the Baptist was imprisoned and put to death. Salomé would have danced for Herod Antipas' son, Herod Antipas, and John the Baptist would have been executed here. Visitors can see spectacular views of the Dead Sea and the West Bank from this peak.

Umm Qais

Gadara, a prosperous Roman city, was previously known as Umm Qais. Thousands of travelers visit the area each year to see the spectacular ruins. Umm Qais is a great place to visit if you want to take in the beautiful views of the Jordan Valley and the Sea of Galilee, the Yarmouk River, and the Golan Heights. It's possible that Jesus performed the Miracle of the Gadarene Swine there. Pella

Pella is an ancient city in northwest Jordan. It is considered one of the most ancient sites in Jordan and a favourite of archaeologists being exceptionally rich in antiquities. It is one of the famous Roman Decapolis cities. The Bible claims that Jacob, Esau's brother, wrestled all night with God in the shape of an angel in Decapolis city during the Bronze Age. A temple was recently uncovered at Pella, which is regarded to be the best-preserved Old Testament temple in the Holy Land. It offers signs of continuous settlement over the past 6000 years.
